Job Oppportunity: Business Development Manager

HZPC Americas Corporation, located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada is the North American seed potato partner of the HZPC Group. HZPC is a world leader in the marketing of seed potatoes for table-potato markets and processing. The key to HZPC’s success is understanding customer’s needs and supporting our seed varieties, thereby ensuring customers and growers are successful with our varieties. HZPC has an extensive research and development program as well as localized testing locations, which allows HZPC to develop potatoes varieties that match the requirements of our customers in North America.

Business Development Manager

Reporting to the General Manager of HZPC Americas, the Business Development Manager is a main point of contact for clients. The Business Development Manager is responsible for establishing, nurturing, and maintaining long-term relationships with customers and potential customers (packers, packers/growers, and distributors). This position is directly responsible for producing long term marketing plans and forecasts. These activities include the introduction of HZPC varieties to the North American market, developing a pricing strategy, analyzing markets and customer needs, and evaluating the creditworthiness of the customer. This position requires travel within Canada and the United States and is based out of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

As the ideal candidate for this position, you are motivated, proactive, and a long-term thinker. Having knowledge of the potato or agriculture industry is preferred. You possess a degree in either business or agriculture. Experience in business development or account management is considered an asset. You are able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and enjoy connecting with people and developing long term relationships.the ideal candidate for this position, you have several years of experience in the potato or agriculture industry.
